Mazagón beach currently comes under the administration of the municipalities of Moguer and Palos de la Frontera. The inhabitants of Mazarrón have publicly expressed there desire to separate from both municipalities. Mazagón beach is a wide, golden, sandy beach extending over several kilometres. Although there are some wild, cut off zones, most of the beach is located within the confines of Mazagón town, and sees a lot of visitors. The beach has plenty of services, and there is a jetty which gives access to Canaletas lighthouse.
Within Mazagón beach, it is worth mentioning the beach Playa del Loro, a virgin beach located within the Doñana National Park, and its counterpoint, Chicago beach which is much more developed and offers all kinds of services.
On the other side, in the direction of Moguer we find El Parador beach, a beautiful, isolated beach surrounded by eucalyptus and pine trees, and golden sand dunes. This is a small beach, some 500 metres long, which thanks to its location is visited by few people. |
